Increasing Independence, Maximizing Potential

Providing a lifetime of opportunities for people with disabilities.

The Schroth School is part of LADACIN Network, Inc. The mission of LADACIN Network, a nonprofit Agency, is to provide a continuum of care, including educational, therapeutic, social, residential, and support services to infants, children, and adults with complex physical and developmental disabilities or delays.

The Agency focuses on enhancing the quality of life for those served and their families. Since its founding in 1949, the Agency has brought together a network of volunteers, qualified staff, people with disabilities, and their families dedicated to providing vital services. Schroth School History

The Agency was founded in 1949 by a group of parents seeking therapy for their children with cerebral palsy. It was incorporated in 1952 as United Cerebral Palsy of Monmouth and Ocean Counties. In 1956, the Agency opened its first school for children from Monmouth and Ocean Counties.

In 1956 the school program opened at Dewey Street in Long Branch. In 1972 Monmouth Medical Center donated land for a new building on Bath Avenue in Long Branch. In 1973 the program moved to the new Bath Avenue location. In 1985 the school in Long Branch was enlarged by a major addition providing additional classroom and therapy space. The program was named “Schroth School” in recognition of the continuous support provided by the entire Schroth family. In 1994 the Schroth Center, housing the Schroth Adult Program and the Schroth School, opened in Wanamassa.
