At Schroth School we welcome all types of communicators.

From our unaided communicators who use their bodies or voices to communicate to our students who need aided systems (a tool or device) to communicate, we have multiple resources to assist our students to maximize their potential in this area.

In this photo you see our star students Jared and Zoe working on their IEP (Individualized Education Plan) communication and socialization objectives using augmentative high tech communication devices. Jared is accessing an iPad using the APP Go Talk Now Talk using a switch activated by his head movements. Zoe is using a Windows-based eye gaze-enabled speech generating device called Tobii Dynavox. This device is controlled completely with her eyes. Both devices help Jared and Zoe communicate and live more independently. Nothing is more fulfilling than a quiet chat between two friends!
